Claiming your HarvardKey

HarvardKey is the University's new unified login credential that grants you access to the online Harvard resources you use every day.

Here's how to get started:

  1. Go to http://key.harvard.edu.
  2. If you have registered your HarvardKey but can't recall what it is, click on "Recover/reset password" or "Recover login name," as appropriate and follow the prompts.
  3. If you have not registered, click on "Claim your HarvardKey." Click on the Alumni tab. You will be asked for your last name, class year, and email address. (That email address will also be your login name.) When prompted, enter your ten-digit HAA ID number.   Note: If you  don't know your HAA ID number, you can get that first, by going to https://key.harvard.edu/find-alumni-record.
  4. An email will then be sent to the address you provided; it will contain a confirmation code and a link for setting your password. Click on the link, type in the confirmation code, come up with your new password, and store it away for easy recall.
  5. Now you have the information you need to log in using Harvard Key, whenever you need to!
